James O'Barr, the creator of the original graphic novel which inspired the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, confirmed that Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire") has been cast as Eric Draven, the man resurrected as a vengeful spirit:
"Jack Huston has definitely been cast. [I'm] really happy with that choice [and the film] will shoot in a couple of months."New reports also indicate that Jessica Brown Findlay ("Downton Abbey") will star as Draven's fiancée, Shelly Webster.
The remake is said to stick much closer to the source material, which includes dialogue between the crow and Draven, something that was present in the comics, but was not used in the original film. The script for the new adaptation has been penned by Cliff Dorfman ("Warrior") and it will be directed by Corin Hardy ("The Woods").
