After the huge success of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy", Chris Pratt is now set to lead another studio tentpole film, namely Universal's adaptation of the graphic novel "Cowboy Ninja Viking". The protagonist of the graphic novel is Duncan, a hired killer working for a counter-intelligence unit of Multiple Personality Disorder patients, formed by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain. Duncan has the ability to channel the skills of a Cowboy, Ninja, and a Viking. The adaptation has been in the works for some time, with a first draft penned by "Zombieland" writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese for Disney, which was dropped and eventually picked up by Universal. Although Mark Forster ("World War Z) was once attached to direct, he is no longer involved in the project and no replacement director was hired.
Meanwhile, Chris Pratt himself confirmed the news of his casting via Twitter:
