Box-Office: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Knocks Down GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

The first live action iteration of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" since the 1990s managed to bring down Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" after just one week in the top spot. The Ninja Turtles reboot opened with $65 million, more than the analysts predicted. Marvel's sci-fi superhero film  Guardians took a step back with a pretty serious 56% drop compared to its debut last week, but a grossed a still solid $41 million.

The tornado thriller "Into The Storm" scored a modest $18 million debut versus a $50 million budget, but that didn't surprise anyone. The Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey produced "The Hundred-Foot Journey" performed quite well, grossing $11 million in its first three days, a decent gross considering the film's $22 million budget. The sequel "Step Up: All In" took in $6.5 million in its first weekend, much less than "Step Up: Revolution" which took in $11.78 million in 2012. However, All In also grossed $37 million overseas, which makes for a decent worldwide total so far.

New Wide Releases: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "Into the Storm", "The Hundred-Foot Journey", "Step Up: All In".
