Gerard Butler to Star in "Point Break" Remake

Gerard Butler ("Olympus Has Fallen") is in final negotiations to star in the remake of Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 action thriller "Point Break". The original starred Patrick Swayze as Bodhi, the leader of a gang of surfer bank robbers, and Keanu Reeves as Johnny Utah, a rookie FBI agent who infiltrates the gang. Apparently, Butler will play Bodhi in the remake and the characeter will be "an expert extreme sports athlete who also seeks to find nirvana through the conquest of a series of athletic feats such as surfing 100-waves. He saves Johnny Utah, the undercover FBI agent, and brings him into the fold of international criminals. The part of Utah is not cast." The remake is written by Kurt Wimmer ("Salt", "Law Abiding Citizen") and here is a short synopsis:
"The new version of the film is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring."

Cast and Synopsis Released for "THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL 2"

Some new details have surfaced regarding the sequel to 2012's surprise hit "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel". The first film was so successful, grossing $136 million worldwide, that Fox Searchlight greenlit a follow-up, the first ever sequel in the company's history. And so, the studio has now revealed the cast and synopsis for the second film. Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel, Celia Imrie, Ronald Pickup, Penelope Wilton, Diana Hardcastle, Tena Desae and Lillete Dubey are set to reprise their roles and they will be joined by Richard Gere, David Strathairn and Tamsin Greig. And here is the official synopsis:
"The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2 is the expansionist dream of Sonny (Dev Patel), and it’s making more claims on his time than he has available, considering his imminent marriage to the love of his life, Sunaina (Tena Desae). Sonny has his eye on a promising property now that his first venture, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for the Elderly and Beautiful, has only a single remaining vacancy – posing a rooming predicament for fresh arrivals Guy (Richard Gere) and Lavinia (Tamsin Greig). Evelyn and Douglas (Judi Dench and Bill Nighy) have now joined the Jaipur workforce, and are wondering where their regular dates for Chilla pancakes will lead, while Norman and Carol (Ronald Pickup and Diana Hardcastle) are negotiating the tricky waters of an exclusive relationship, as Madge (Celia Imrie) juggles two eligible and very wealthy suitors. Perhaps the only one who may know the answers is newly installed co-manager of the hotel, Muriel (Maggie Smith), the keeper of everyone’s secrets. As the demands of a traditional Indian wedding threaten to engulf them all, an unexpected way forward presents itself."

Rupert Friend to Replace Paul Walker in "AGENT 47"

Apart from the "Fast & Furious" franchise, Paul Walker was also set to star in "Agent 47", another potential franchise installment. The film is an adaptation of the "Hitman" videogames and it serves as a reboot and sequel to the 2007 film "Hitman" which starred Timothy Olyphant as the titular assassin who is famous for having a barcode stamped on the back of his head. After Walker's tragic death, Fox International scrambled to find a new lead for their film. And so, Rupert Friend of "Homeland" fame was chosen to star as Agent 47. The film will be directed by Aleksander Bach from a script by Kyle Ward, Skip Woods and Michael Finch.
