After the sudden demise of Paul Walker, one the key actors of the "Fast & Furious" franchise, Universal had to decide what would be the appropriate next step regarding "Fast & Furious 7", which was halfway finished when the tragic event happened. The studio chose to move forward with the sequel and for the past weeks, director James Wan and writers Chris Morgan and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum worked hard to figure out how to continue the story. In the end, they decided that Paul Walker's character will remain a part of the film and will be "retired" in a satisfactory way. Thankfully, the decision does not imply killing off the character. That would have been in poor taste. Instead, the writers will use the existing footage and write additional scenes so that Walker's character gets a decent exit from the franchise. The new release date for "Fast & Furious 7" is April 10, 2015.
