The nominations for the 2014 Writers Guild Awards have been announced. The usual suspects like "American Hustle", "Blue Jasmine", "Her", "Captain Phillips" and "Dallas Buyers Club" are all here, so no big surprises, apart from the nomination of Peter Berg's screenplay for the war drama "Lone Survivor". A significant snub is that of the Coen's "Inside Llewyn Davis", which, despite an incredible critical reception, seems to be pretty much ignored at the Guild awards. It even missed a nomination at the Producers Guild Awards, which are usually a solid indicator for the Oscars' Best Picture nominations. "12 Years a Slave" was also snubbed at the WGA.
