The first movie clips for the found-footage horror sequel "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones" have been released. We still don't know much about the plot except that it features Latino characters. The film stars Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, Eddie J. Fernandez, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., Kimberly Ables Jindra, Tonja Kahlens and Frank Salinas.

Empire magazine has released some new images for upcoming films in their latest issue. Below is a short description of the new images and you can check out both the pictures and read the synopses for the films after the jump.

Trailer & Poster for Stephen Chow's JOURNEY TO THE WEST
The first trailer and poster for the fantasy action comedy "Journey to the West" (Xi you xiang mo pian) have been released. The film is directed by Stephen Chow ("Kung Fu Hustle", "Shaolin Soccer") and Chi-kin Kwok, and it features the same wacky visuals and cartoonish action as Chow's previous films. The cast features Qi Shu, Zhang Wen, Bo Huang and Lo Show.
"Journey to the West" opens in the US on March 7, 2014 (including iTunes) and on February 7th in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The first trailer and poster for the thriller "3 Days to Kill" have been released. The film is directed by McG ("Terminator: Salvation"). Kevin Costner stars as a dangerous international spy who is determined to give up his high stakes life to finally build a closer relationship with his estranged wife (Connie Nielsen) and daughter (Hailee Steinfeld). But, things don't go acording to plan when his CIA handler (Amber Heard) gives him one last mission.

The cover for the latest issue of Empire Magazine has appeared online and it offers a look at the protagonists of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and the villain, The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). The Marvel sequel also stars Robert Redford, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández and Samuel L. Jackson.

Trailer & Poster for DRAFT DAY Starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner
The first trailer and poster for the sports drama "Draft Day" have been released. The film is directed by Ivan Reitman ("Ghostbusters") and it stars Kevin Costner as general manager Sonny Weaver who, on the day of the NFL draft, gets the opportunity to save football in Cleveland when he trades for the number one pick. The film also stars Jennifer Garner, Frank Langella, Denis Leary, Timothy Simons and Ellen Burstyn.

Weekend Box-Office Report: THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, 47 RONIN, GRUDGE MATCH, THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY
The holiday season offered a considerable boost to both new and old releaseas at the box-office, but the most interesting race was the one for the top spot between "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" and Disney's surprise hit "Frozen". Eventually, Peter Jackson's second installment in the prequel trilogy managed to land in first place with $29.9 million, with "Frozen" close behind at $28.8 million. The animated feature registered a 47% increase from last weekend, while Jackson's Tolkien adaptation managed to hold steady with only a 5% decrease. Other movies that benefited from the holiday boost were "American Hustle", "Saving Mr. Banks" (up by 50%) and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire".
Other movies were not as fortunte, like Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" which managed to enter the top 10 at #5 with a modest $18 million in its wide debut, and Ben Stiller's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" similarly fell behind at #7 with $13 million.
Even less fortunate was the Keanu Reeves starrer "47 Ronin" which only earned $9.8 million during the weekend and $20 million in the 5 days since Christmas, which is especially bad considering the film cost $200 million to make. Another holiday flop was the Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone team-up "Grudge Match" which fell outside the top 10 in its opening weekend and earned $7.3 million and $13 million since Christmas, versus a budget of $40 million.

Weekend Box-Office Report: ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS
It was a close battle at the box-office this past weekend between last week's release "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" and "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues". Peter Jackson's second installment in The Hobbit trilogy managed to stay on top with $31 million during the weekend, while the Anchorman sequel only managed to gross $26 million in the same 3-day timeframe, a bit behind of the first "Anchorman", which grossed $28 million in its opening weekend. However, the sequel already grossed $40 million in five days, while the first film had a total gross of $85 million in its entire theatrical run, so there's still hope.
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" is still trailing behind the first film, "An Unexpected Journey", which had a total domestic gross of $303 million and a worldwide total of $1 billion. So far, "The Desolation of Smaug" has earned only $127 domestically and $403 worldwide, so it still has a long way to go and will probably not match the first installment's success, despite being regarded as a superior film according to reviews.

Vin Diesel Confirmed as Groot in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Although it was known for some time that Vin Diesel would star as Groot in the upcoming comic book adaptation "Guardians of the Galaxy", Marvel has finally offered an official confirmation of Diesel's casting in their film. The confirmation came along with an image of Vin Diesel with his arms around a model of Groot (above), and a short statement from director James Gunn:"Yep it is completely official. AND he’s amazing. I never knew someone could say I AM GROOT so many different ways and with such feeling (and that sounds like I’m kidding but I’m not!)""Guardians of the Galaxy" already has an impressive cast which also includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, Peter Serafinowicz and Benicio Del Toro. The film will be released in theaters on August 1, 2014.

Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it."
New Villain Announced for THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
A new villain has been announced for the sequel to 2012's "The Avengers", besides the already obvious Ultron. The new dastardly character will be Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. Since my comic book lore is a bit rusty, I shall turn to Wikipedia for answers regarding the mysterious new character. Here's what the dude is all about:"Baron Strucker, a former Nazi officer, is one of the leaders of HYDRA and an enemy of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers, and the interests of the United States of America and of the free world in general. He has been physically augmented to be nearly ageless. He has been seemingly killed in the past only to return to plague the world with schemes of world domination and genocide, time and time again."Rumors seem to indicate that Baron Strucker will be the one who will bring Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his sister Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) into the plot. So far no official casting has been made, but Marvel is actively looking for someone to play the supporting villain. Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Produce, Direct and Star in SANDMAN
Since most movie news these days seem to revolve around comic book adaptations ... here's another one. Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been officially tapped by Warner Bros. and DC Comics to produce, direct and star in the cinematic adaptation of Neil Gaiman's comic "Sandman". The protagonist of the comics, also known as Dream, The Lord of Dreams or Morpheus, is an anthropomorphic personification of dreams and the ruler of the world of dreams. After being held prisoner for 70 years, Morpheus escapes in the modern day world and sets out to take revenge on his captors and rebuild his abandoned kingdom. Gordon-Levitt is fresh off the successful directorial debut "Don Jon" and here's what he had to say via Twitter:"Ladies and gentlemen, I’m incredibly honored to be working with David Goyer, Warner Bros, and @neilhimself on SANDMAN. #Prelude"

Four new movie clips and a featurette have been released for the true story war drama "Lone Survivor". The featurette is a look inside the real story the film is based on and the heroism of the real Navy SEALs portrayed in the film.
