As previously reported, Patty Jenkins ("Monster") was attached to direct the sequel to "Thor", one of 2011s Marvel comic book adaptations to be part of the upcoming Avengers movie and a decent summer blockbuster which managed to take in over $400M worldwide. After "Thor" director Kenneth Branagh passed on the opportunity to continue working on the franchise, Jenkins seemed like a fresh and dramatically appropriate choice for the superhero flick. Now, it seems that Marvel is scrambling to find a new helmer after Jenkins announced she's exiting the project due to "creative differences", which is usually the PC term for "something went terribly wrong during the creative process and resulted in things being violently thrown around the room". Some rumors say that she will eventually work on a superhero franchise, but not a sequel. I'm a bit disappointed actually, because I thought Jenkins was a brave choice for the sequel, and, the fact remains that "Thor 2", currently scheduled for release on November 15, 2013, is going to get pushed back if a director is not found as soon as possible. I say get Michael Bay on this. He'll blow it up real good.
