"Bau: Artist at War" is a biographial drama directed by Sean McNamara ("Soul Surfer", "The Miracle Season", "Reagan") from a script by Deborah Smerecnik, Ron Bass ("Rain Man", "What Dreams May Come") and Sonia Kifferstein. The film chronicles the inspiring love story of artist, forger and holocaust survivor Joseph Bau (Emile Hirsch), who used his artistic skills, humor and hope to stay alive and help hundreds to escape. Miraculously, he found love in the midst of despair.

The cast also includes Inbar Lavi, Josh Zuckerman, Yan Tual, Eugene Lipinski, Josh Blacker, Edward Foy, Chris Cope and Adam Tsekhman. The film opened in select theaters on September 26, 2025, and on December 2 it was released on digital platforms.
