JUMP BACK TO TOPSynopsis:
"From three-time Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe winner Dean DeBlois, the creative visionary behind DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, comes a stunning live-action reimagining of the film that launched the beloved franchise.
On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames; The Black Phone, For All Mankind) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society. With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (BAFTA nominee Nico Parker; Dumbo, The Last of Us) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost; Snow White and the Huntsman, Shaun of the Dead) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding.
As an ancient threat emerges, endangering both Vikings and dragons, Hiccup’s friendship with Toothless becomes the key to forging a new future. Together, they must navigate the delicate path toward peace, soaring beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefining what it means to be a hero and a leader.
Inspired by Cressida Cowell’s New York Times bestselling book series, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon franchise has captivated global audiences, earning four Academy Award® nominations and grossing more than $1.6 billion at the global box-office. Now, through cutting-edge visual effects, DeBlois transforms his beloved animated saga into a breathtaking live-action spectacle, bringing the epic adventures of Hiccup and Toothless to life with jaw-dropping realism as they discover the true meaning of friendship, courage and destiny. Time Travel Is Dangerous (March 28, 2025 - UK Cinemas)
JUMP BACK TO TOPSynopsis:
"Shakespeare Sisters & Candr Pictures are excited to announce that their star-studded British sci-fi comedy Time Travel Is Dangerous, will be coming to UK cinemas from 28th March.
Written and directed by Chris Reading and co-written and produced by Anna-Elizabeth and Hillary Shakespeare (the Shakespeare Sisters), the film stars British comedy royalty in Johnny Vegas (Benidorm, Bleak House), Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Sophie Thompson (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Gosford Park) & Mark Heap (Spaced, Green Wing).
Narrated by Stephen Fry the film also features stand-out performances from Brian Bovell (Love Actually, Gimme Gimme Gimme), Tony Way (After Life, Game of Thrones), Guy Henry (Harry Potter, Bridgerton: Queen Charlotte), Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Laura Aikman (Gavin and Stacey, Archie) & Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats).
Time Travel Is Dangerous is a quintessentially British comedy, blending witty dialogue, quirky characters and a touch of the absurd with a heartwarming core.
The ensemble cast surround best friends and shop owners Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson, who play characters based on themselves, bringing their own vibrant personalities and undeniable chemistry to the screen. The film is set around their actual Muswell Hill vintage shop ChaChaCha, bringing a real-life documentary element to the sci-fi mockumentary.
Best friends Ruth and Megan run a vintage shop in Muswell Hill. When they stumble across a time machine, it occurs to them that stock is much cheaper if they ‘borrow’ from the past - well, it’s free. They don't want to change history, or rob banks, they just want to find a nice Victorian lamp or authentic 80s bum bag without getting sucked into the hellish time-space vortex that is “the Unreason”. The thing is, Time Travel Is Dangerous.
Time Travel Is Dangerous celebrated international premieres at Austin Film Festival, FrightFest Halloween & Trieste Science+Fiction Festival where it has received critical acclaim with Sci-Fi Now calling it "endearing, surreal and funny" and MovieJawn labelling it a "hilarious, exciting, nerve-wracking adventure that made me question my beliefs on what a sci-fi movie is supposed to be.""
