"Shirley" is a biographical drama written and directed by "12 Years a Slave" scribe John Ridley based on the true story of the failed 1972 presidential run of Shirley Chisholm, who was already the first Black woman to be elected to the United States Congress. The cast includes Regina King, Lance Reddick, Terrence Howard, Lucas Hedges, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Andre Holland, Dorian Missick and Amirah Vann. The film premiered on March 22, 2024 on Netflix.
