Jack Black Joins Jason Momoa in MINECRAFT Movie

Jack Black has joined the cast of Warner Bros. and Legendary's upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular video game "Minecraft". The film is directed by Jared Hess ("Napoleon Dynamite", "Nacho Libre"). It is unknown who is writing the screenplay, and no plot details have been revealed.

The cast already includes Jason Momoa ("Aquaman"), Emma Myers ("Wednesday") and Danielle Brooks ("The Color Purple"). Production is expected to begin soon in New Zealand.

"Minecraft" will open in theaters on April 4, 2025. The Mojang sandbox title is the bestselling video game of all time, with 300 million copies sold and nearly 140M monthly active players.
