The fifth season of the British drama series "Grantchester" has premiered on January 10, 2020 on ITV in the U.K., and on June 14, 2020 on PBS in the U.S.

Created by Daisy Coulam based on "The Grantchester Mysteries" collection of short stories by James Runcie, the series follows a Cambridgeshire clergyman who finds himself investigating a series of mysterious wrongdoings alongside Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green) in the small village of Grantchester.

James Norton's crime-solving vicar Sidney Chambers departed the show in Series 4, and a new character, Reverend Will Davenport (Tom Brittney) took over the lead. The new season jumps forward a year to 1957 as Geordie and Will continue solving crimes in Grantchester.
