"The Best of Enemies" is a true story drama written and directed by "The Hunger Games" and "Free State of Jones" producer Robin Bissell. The film marks Bissell's directorial debut, and it's based on the book "The Best of Enemies: Race and Redemption in the New South" by Osha Gray Davidson.

Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell star as civil rights activist Ann Atwater and Ku Klux Klan leader C. P. Ellis, who in 1971 agreed to co-chair a two-week community meeting to deal with a court-ordered school desegregation decree. The incredible events that unfolded would change the town of Durham and the lives of Atwater and Ellis forever. Wes Bentley, Babou Ceesay, Anne Heche and Bruce McGill co-star.

"The Best of Enemies" opened in theaters on April 5, 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics.
