"Black Earth Rising" is a miniseries written and directed by Hugo Blick ("The Honourable Woman") that tells the story of Rwandan-born British legal investigator Kate Ashby (Michaela Coel), who works in the London for American barrister Michael Ennis (John Goodman). When Kate's adoptive mother Eve (Harriet Walter) takes on a case prosecuting an African militia leader, Michael and Kate are pulled into a journey that will upend their lives forever.

"Black Earth Rising" premiered on BBC Two in the U.K. on September 10, 2018. Outside the U.K., the series is being streamed via Netflix.
