"The Upside" is a dramedy directed by Neil Burger from a script by Jon Hartmere. The film is a remake of the 2011 French film "Les Intouchables", which was nominated for a Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globess and BAFTAs in 2013.

Inspired by a true story, the film follows a recently paroled ex-convict (Kevin Hart) who strikes up an unusual and unlikely friendship with a paralyzed billionaire (Bryan Cranston). Nicole Kidman, Aja Naomi King, Julianna Margulies, Tate Donovan and Golshifteh Farahani co-star.

"The Upside" premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, but ended up being shelved when the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke out, as The Weinstein Company owned the distribution rights. The film was sold off and eventually bought by STX Entertainment and Lantern Entertainment. It finally opened in theaters on January 11, 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics.
