Golden Globe winner Gael García Bernal ("Mozart in the Jungle") gets to wear the iconic cape and mask for a new "Zorro" reboot. Titled "Z", the film will be written and directed by "Gravity" co-writer Jonás Cuarón, son of acclaimed director Alfonso Cuarón. Bernal is also known for starring in "Y Tu Mamá También", "Babel" and "The Motorcycle Diaries".
The reboot re-imagines the legendary character and sets the action in the near future. Some reports have described the film as being in the vein of "The Dark Knight". The film was initially announced last year with the title "Zorro Reborn". Production is expected to begin in the fall.
