Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard has joined the cast of Robert Zemeckis' untitled romantic thriller. The actress will star alongside Brad Pitt who is also producing the film. The script has been penned by Steven Knight ("Eastern Promises"). According to THR, the story takes place during WWII, with Cotillard and Pitt playing assassins who fall in love during a mission in Casablanca to kill a German ambassador. The two marry, but things get complicated when Pitt is ordered to kill Cotillard because she is a double agent.

Production is set to begin in the first quarter of 2016 to accomodate everyone's busy schedules. Zemeckis is getting ready to do press for his upcoming biopic "The Walk" which opens in October, Pitt is going to star in the Netflix satirical comedy "War Machine" which shoots in August, and Cotillard will begin work on the videogame adaptation "Assassin’s Creed" alongside her "Macbeth" co-star Michael Fassbender.
