Chris Pine ("Star Trek") is in talks to join the cast of Warner Bros' "Wonder Woman". Pine would play Steve Trevor, the love interest of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). In the comics Trevor was an intelligence officer in the US Army during World War II whose plane crashed on Paradise Island, the isolated homeland of the Amazons, and was nursed back to health by the Amazon princess Diana, who fell in love with him and followed him when he returned to the outside world, thus becoming Wonder Woman.
The film is directed by Patty Jenkins ("Monster") who replaced Michelle MacLaren ("Breaking Bad"). The script has been written by Jason Fuchs ("Pan").
"Wonder Woman" opens in theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
