"Interstellar" star Matthew McConaughey is set to team up with "The Hunger Games" director Gary Ross for the Civil War drama "Free State of Jones". The film is based on the untold story of Newton Knight, the leader of one of the greatest rebellions in Civil War history who defected from the Confederate Army, banded together with a group of like-minded soldiers, and set out to form their own State known as the Free State Of Jones. After the war he freed children still enslaved after a daring raid. McConaughey is in talks to star as Knight. The film will have an estimated budget of $65 million of which $20 million is supposed to be financed by STX Entertainment as soon as the deal closes. Filming is expected to begin sometime in the first quarter of 2015.
