Arronofsky Will Not Direct 'The Wolverine'

Darren Arronofsky ("Requiem for a Dream", "Black Swan", "The Wrestler") decided not to continue his involvement in the next installment of the "X-Men" franchise. Arronofsky has stated he was uncomfortable with the fact that the whole production, set in Japan, would have required him to be away from his family for almost a whole year. Fox and Hugh Jackman will now have to find a new director. "The Wolverine" was supposed to be a sequel to 2009's "X-Men Origins : Wolverine". Fan hopes were high, so Arronofsky's departure from the franchise is nothing short of a tragedy. I too regret that the franchise missed on the opportunity to have such a talented and visually ingenious director. Let's hope Fox finds a good replacement.
