Directed by Alexandre Moors ("Blue Caprice"), the war drama "The Yellow Birds" tells the story of two young soldiers, played by Alden Ehrenreich and Tye Sheridan, who forge a deep bond of friendship against the backdrop of the Iraq War. When tragedy strikes, one soldier must return home to face the hard truth behind the incident and help a grieving mother (Jennifer Aniston).

The film is based on the novel of the same name written by Kevin Powers. The screenplay was written by R.F.I. Porto and David Lowery. The cast also includes Toni Collette, Jack Huston, Jason Patrick, Lee Tergesen, Renee Willett and Aylin Tezel.

"The Yellow Birds" opened in select theaters on June 15, 2018. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
