"The Outsider" is a crime drama directed by Martin Zandvliet ("Land of Mine") from a script by Andrew Baldwin ("The Take"). The film stars Jared Leto as an American soldier imprisoned in post-WWII Japan, who is set free with the help of the yakuza and joins the infamous criminal organization in order to repay them for his freedom. Tadanobu Asano, Kippei Shiina, Shiori Kutsuna, Emile Hirsch and Rory Cochrane also star.
"The Outsider" premiered via Netflix on March 9, 2018. The film received mostly negative reviews.
