The eighth season of the horror series "The Walking Dead" has premiered on AMC on October 22nd, 2017. The new season will consist of 16 episodes and is based on the "All Out War" story arc of the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, which finds the survivors of Alexandria, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom joining forces to take down Negan and the Saviors.

Returning cast members include Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The new season also finds Katelyn Nacon, Khary Payton, Steven Ogg and Pollyanna McIntosh promoted to series regulars.

The next episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 8 will air on October 29th, 2017.

The executive producers are Kirkman, David Alpert, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Tom Luse, and Gale Anne Hurd, with Gimple as showrunner.
