This weekend's box-office results paint a dull picture. Disney's "Moana" held its ground at the top, but the post-Thanksgiving weekend featured no major new wide releases, which resulted in a slow week overall, but it also helped some old releases to over-perform.

"Moana" continued to earn well for Disney, holding over at #1 with $28.3 million. The film's domestic total has reached $119.8 million in 12 days. Internationally the film has grossed $57.5 million from 30 territories since its release.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has slowed down a bit, dropping 59% from last weekend and bringing in $18.5 million. The film has grossed $183.5 million domestically and $424.4 million overseas.
"Arrival" is one of the week's over-performers, with an estimated $7.3 million over the weekend, enough to pull it up to a #3 finish from last week's #5. The sci-fi drama has now grossed $73 million domestically.
Last week's new release, "Allied" overcame its terrible opening weekend performance and managed to only drop 44%, grossing $7 million this weekend. However, with only $28.9 million domestic gross and $24.8 million overseas versus an $85 million production budget, it doesn't look like much of a happy ending for Paramount.
"Doctor Strange" rounds up the top 5 with a weekend gross of $6.4 million. Its domestic total now stands at $215.3 million, making it the ninth largest domestic release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now on to the new releases. First up is the Blumhouse horror "Incarnate", which brought in $2.6 million from 1,737 theaters, somewhat less than was expected. The film only cost $5 million to produce. Both critics and moviegoers gave it low scores resulting in a "C-" on CinemaScore and 21% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The second new release is the faith-based holiday drama "Believe", but the film landed outside the Top 10 with $602,519 from 639 theaters.
New Wide Releases: "Incarnate", "Believe".
Biggest Drop : "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" (-58.9%)
Smallest Drop : "Arrival" (-36.3%)
