The drama "Lion" tells the uplifting true story of Saroo Brierley (Dev Patel), who was lost on a train when he was five years old and survived alone in Kolkata before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple, played by Nicole Kidman and John Brierly.
Now a grown man, Saroo decides to find his birth family using only his memories and Google Earth. The film has received four Golden Globe Awards nominations including Best Picture, Supporting Actor (Patel) and Supporting Actress (Kidman).
Directed by Garth Davis ("Top of the Lake"), the film also stars Rooney Mara, Priyanka Bose and Sunny Pawar.
"Lion" began a limited run in theaters on November 25th and will expand nationwide on Christmas Day.

Official Synopsis
"Five-year-old Saroo gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of Kilometers across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home."
