Kate Beckinsale ("Underworld") and Chloe Sevigny ("Big Love") are set to star in director Whit Stillman's new film "Love and Friendship". The film is based on the Jane Austen novella "Lady Susan". Here is the official synopsis:
"Set in the 1790s, LOVE & FRIENDSHIP concerns itself with beautiful widow Lady Susan Vernon (Beckinsale), who has come to the estate of her in-laws to wait out the colorful rumors about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst ensconced there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and her rather reluctant debutante daughter, Frederica."
The film will also star Xavier Samuel ("Fury"), Stephen Fry ("V for Vendetta"), Emma Greenwell ("Shameless"), Morfydd Clark ("Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"), Jemma Redgrave ("Howards End"), James Fleet ("Sense and Sensibility"), Tom Bennett ("Shadow Dancer") and Justin Edwards ("Thor: The Dark World").

Beckinsale, Sevigny and Stillman previously worked together on the 1998 dramedy "The Last Days of Disco". Stillman is currently working on the Amazon TV series "The Cosmopolitans"
