Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm and Jason Schwartzman Join WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER Series

Kristen Wiig ("Bridesmaids"), Chris Pine ("Star Trek"), Jon Hamm ("Mad Men") and Jason Schwartzman ("Hotel Grand Budapest") have joined the cast of Netflix's new series based on the 2001 comedy "Wet Hot American Summer". Titled "Wet Hot American Summer: The First Day", the show will be written by original creators David Wain and Michael Showalter, with Wain directing and Showalter serving as showrunner. Regarding the roles of the new cast, Deadline reports the following:
"Hamm will play a secret spy, Wiig is playing a snobby counselor at the preppy rival camp Camp Tigerclaw, Schwartzman is the boy’s camp head counselor while Pine’s character is described as mysterious."
The show will also feature the film's original stars Elizabeth Banks, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Joe Lo Truglio, Janeane Garafolo, Marguerite Moreau, Michael Ian Black, David Hyde Pierce, H. Jon Benjamin, Judah Friedlander, Nina Hellman, Zak Orth, A.D. Miles, Marisa Ryan, Kevin Sussman and Christopher Meloni
