The comedy
"Ride Along" maintained its top position at the box-office this week, grossing $21 million which adds up to a total of $75 million in just 10 days. The comedy has performed beyond anyone's wildest expectations and looks to reach the $100 million milestone in the next week. So did
Peter Berg's Afghanistat war drama
"Lone Survivor", which held steady at No. 2 with a total gross of $93.6 million.
Another impressive situation is that of Disney's mega-hit
"Frozen". The animated feature has climbed one spot to No. 4 and has grossed $810 million worldwide, of which $347 million domestically, making it the highest-grossing original animated movie ever (topping
"Finding Nemo").
Much less impressive was this weekend's new release,
"I, Frankenstein". The expensive comic book adptation, an attempt to cash-in on the success of the
"Underworld" franchise, tanked on its opening weekend, grossing a poor $8 million versus a $65 million. The film ranked sixth.
