The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards winners have been announced. The competition was rough and with so many good movies among the nominees, it's no surprise that the awards themselves were distributed somewhat evenly among the major contenders. "12 Years A Slave" won for Best Drama, while "American Hustle" won the Best Comedy award. The latter also took home awards for Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto won awards for their performances in "Dallas Buyers Club". Cate Blanchett won Best Actress (Drama) for her role in Woody Allen's "Blue Jasmine" and Leonardo DiCaprio's performance in "The Wolf of Wall Street" was rewarded in the Best Actor (Musical/Comedy) category.
In the television categories, it was the big year for "Breaking Bad", which finally won the Golden Globes for Best Series (Drama) and Best Actor (Bryan Cranston). Cranston was nominated four years in a row. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" won for Best TV Series (Comedy). Steven Soderbergh's "Behind the Candelabra" won two awards for Best Mini-Series and Best Actor in a Mini-Series (Michael Douglas).
