Who better to direct a movie about controversial NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden than "J.F.K." director Oliver Stone ? Stone is officially working on the script for the upcoming biopic based on the book "The Snowden Files" by Guardian journalist Luke Harding. In case you're not familiar with the Snowden scandal, here's a short excerpt from the book's synopsis:
"a young computer genius working for America’s National Security Agency, blew the whistle on the way this powerful organisation uses new technology to spy on the entire planet."Sounds like the perfect Oliver Stone movie doesn't it ? Also, the book is being labeled as a "globe-trotting thriller". Stone hopes to begin production by the end of this year. He really needs to, because there is another Edward Snowden movie in the works, based on the book "No Place to Hide". Let's hope it works out better than Bill Condon's WikiLeaks movie "The Fifth Estate".
