Joaquin Phoenix ("The Master") has signed on to star in director Woody Allen's new film. The film is currently untitled and not much else is known about it, but rumors seem to indicate that it will begin production in July. July will also be the month in which Allen's current project will be released, a romantic comedy called "Magic in the Moonlight" that stars Colin Firth as "an Englishman who is brought in to help unmask a possible swindle in the south of France in the 1920s against a backdrop of wealthy mansions, the Côte d’Azur, jazz joints and fashionable spots for the wealthy of the Jazz Age.". Marcia Gay Harden and Emma Stone also star. Meanwhile, Phoenix has just finished work on Paul Thomas Anderson's "Inherent Vice" which comes out this December and also stars Josh Brolin, Reese Witherspoon, Jena Malone, Owen Wilson and Benicio Del Toro.
