The winners of the 66th Annual Directors Guild Awards have been announced yesterday in a ceremony hosted by Jane Lynch. The award for Best Director went to Alfonso Cuarón for "Gravity". This win solidifies "Gravity"s chances at the Oscars after the film was tied with "12 Years a Slave" at the PGA awards last week. There is also a possibility that the Academy Awards will be split between the two films, with Best Picture going to "12 Years a Slave" and Best Director to "Gravity". Other winners of the 2014 DGA awards include Jehane Noujaim for the documentary "The Square" and in television, Steven Soderbergh for "Behind the Candelabra".
