Ellen Page ("Juno") and Evan Rachel Wood ("Mildred Pierce") are set to star in the post-apocalyptic film "Into the Forest", based on Jean Hegland's novel. The story focuses on "two teenage sisters who live alone in a remote part of the Northern California forest, miles away from any neighbor, when society unexpectedly collapses". With electricity and gas running out and rumors of war overseas persisting, the sisters struggle to survive.
Page and Wood will star as the two sisters and Ellen Page will also produce the picture. Patricia Rozema ("Grey Gardens", "Mansfield Park") is set to direct from her own adapted screenplay.
Ellen Page has recently finished filming on "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and is also attached to star in the Korean War drama "Queen and Country".
Evan Rachel Wood can be seen opposite Shia LaBeouf in "Charlie Countryman", formerly known as "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman", and opposite Justin Long, Sam Rockwell and Vince Vaughn in the romantic comedy "A Case of You". Wood has also recently finished filming Andrew Fleming's romantic dramedy "Barefoot".
