CASTING UPDATE: Colin Farrell, Paula Patton, Vince Vaughn, Hailee Steinfeld, Cate Blanchett and More

The "World of Warcraft" adaptation is moving forward after getting Duncan Jones ("Moon", "Source Code") to direct. While the videogame adaptation is scheduled to begin production sometime around January 2014, reports have begun to surface which indicate that Colin Farrell ("Seven Psychopaths") and Paula Patton ("Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol") are in talks to star in the lead roles. Patton is apparently in advanced negotiations, while Farrell is still considering the offer. "World of Warcraft" is expected to be released in 2015.

Vince Vaughn ("The Internship") and Hailee Steinfeld ("True Grit") are set to star in the action thriller "Term Life", directed by Peter Billingsley ("Couples Retreat"). The film is an adaptation of a graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow and the script will be written by Lieberman. According to The Wrap, "Vaughn stars as Nick Barrow, who plans and sells heists to the highest bidder but finds himself hunted by mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops. To help his estranged daughter, Cate (Steinfeld), he takes out a life insurance policy on himself with her as the beneficiary — but he has to stay alive for 21 days, and takes his daughter on the run."

Cate Blanchett ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button") will make her directorial debut with "The Dinner", an adpatation of the 2009 book by Herman Koch. The story centers on two couples who meet at a fashionable restaurant for dinner. But, behind the polite conversation and the food lies a terrible subject that the couples need to discuss. Each couple has a fifteen-year-old son and both have been involved in a horrific act that has triggered a police investigation. When the conversation finally touches on their children, the civility and friendship disintegrate, as each couple show just how far they are prepared to go to protect those they love. The script was adapted by Oren Moverman ("The Messenger").

Zachary Quinto ("Star Trek Into Darkness") and Natalie Dormer ("The Tudors") will join the cast of the indie drama "The Girl Who Invented Kissing". The film "follows two brothers whose lives are interrupted when a nameless young drifter walks out of the rain and into their bar." Tom Sierchio writes and directs the film which also stars Stephen Graham ("Boardwalk Empire"), Timothy Simons ("Veep") and Adelaide Clemens ("The Great Gatsby").
