CAPTAIN PHILLIPS (A CAPTAIN'S DUTY) - March 22, 2013
A fact-based drama, directed by Paul Greengrass ("The Bourne Ultimatum", "United 93") and starring Tom Hanks as Richard Phillips, captain of the Maersk Alabama, an american cargo ship hijacked by Somali pirated. Phillips traded himself for the safety of his crew and remained hostage for the duration of five very tense days. The script, based in part on Phillips' book "A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea", has been written by Billy Ray ("State of Play", "Flightplan"). For Discovery Channel enthusiasts out there, the story has also been featured in the 2009 documentary "Somali Pirate Takedown: The Real Story".
EVIL DEAD (Remake) - April 12, 2013.
A remake of Sam Raimi's classic horror which involved a bunch of youngsters who take a trip to a cabin in the woods, only to find themselves assaulted by demonic forces that possess them one by one. The franchise featured three movies, all of them starring Bruce Campbell as the demon ass-kicker. The remake, produced by Raimi, is directed by newcomer Fede Alvarez and a first draft of the script was written by Diablo Cody ("Juno", "Young Adult").
