Release Date Announcements : RED DAWN, STAR TREK 2, SINGULARITY and More

RED DAWN - November 2, 2012

A remake of the 1984 action movie "Red Dawn" starring Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell and Lea Thompson. In the original, Soviet and Russian forces invade the United States and a band of teenagers take to the mountains and form a small resistance group, The Wolverines. In the updated version, directed by stuntman Dan Bradley, it's the North Koreans who invade the US. The remake stars Chris Hemsworth ("Thor"), Josh Hutcherson ("Journey to the Center of the Earth"), Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Watchmen") and Adrianne Palicki ("Friday Night Light").

SINGULARITY - November 1, 2013.

"Singularity" is a sci-fi actioner directed by Ronald Emmerich ("2012", "Anonymous") which takes place 40 years into the future and tells the story of a boy whose body contains nanobots that grant him special abilities. Production is scheduled to start next year in march, although the fact that no actors have been cast so far could mean that both the production date and the release date will be pushed back.

STAR TREK 2 - May 17, 2013

A sequel to J.J. Abrams' reboot of the "Star Trek" franchise. Abrams will return to direct from a script written by Damon Lindelof ("Prometheus"), Alex Kurtzman & Robert Orci ("Transformers"). It will be shot in 3D (obviously).

THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK - November 21, 2012

Official Synopsis: Adapted from the best-selling novel by Matthew Quick, THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK is a touching, one-of-a-kind comedy about love and second chances. Pat Peoples (Bradley Cooper) is a man always trying to look on the bright side of life – the title of the story takes it’s name from the expression that “every cloud has a silver lining.” Released from the hospital after losing his wife to another man, Pat believes this age-old adage is just the ticket to trying to win her back and get his life on track. Trying to remain resolutely undiscouraged, Pat moves back in with his parents and devotes himself entirely to becoming the man his wife always wanted him to be. But it’s an uphill battle. Until Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a beautiful young woman whose life also has not turned out the way she wanted. Together, the couple will try and navigate through their lives and stay true to who they are, always just one adventure away from a unique friendship, and possibly even love..
