Rejoice "Mortal Kombat" fans, for you will be blessed with a web-series that will make forgotten the shame and failure of the live-action movies and the TV series and will bring thee closer to the essence of the video-game series that rocked the world. Verily I say unto thee. Prepare to witness the coming of the prophecy. Okay, crazy-speak aside, the web-series has an official premiere date : April 12, 2011. That's one week before the release of the newest "Mortal Kombat" game. Directed by Kevin Tancharoen who made a sensation with his short "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" concept defining movie a while back, this series promises to provide fans with a grittier version and, hopefully, a truer version as well, of the violent videogame franchise. Expectations are high, so Mr. Tancharoen better deliver, or else, he'll have to change his name and move to Mars, 'cause I can think of a few fanboy friends of mine who will throw a Hulk tantrum if this isn't what they expect. Ah, the joys of tinkering with beloved franchises.
