The show is directed by Trygve Allister Diesen from a script by Jesper Harrie, and it stars Gustaf Skarsgård, Ane Dahl Torp, Pernilla August, Magnus Krepper and Jonas Karlsson. "To Cook a Bear" premiered on October 15, 2025 on Hulu/Disney+.

"In Northern Sweden, 1852, a new pastor and his family arrive in Kengis, a village riddled with disorder. The Pastor wants to improve the community, but many of the villagers are opposed to change. When a series of grisly murders occur, the Pastor and his Sami foster-son, Jussi, investigate, but are hindered by the ruling elite in the village. Tensions escalate, loyalties are tested, and the Pastor is forced to protect his family whilst hunting down a killer who is not stopping."
