"The Lowdown" is a neo-noir series created by Sterlin Harjo and loosely inspired by historian, citizen journalist, activist, and artist Lee Roy Chapman. Set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the show stars Ethan Hawke as a determined bookstore owner who moonlights as an investigative journalist, digging into local corruption. When his reporting uncovers sinister connections, he must protect both his family and the truth.

The cast also includes Keith David, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tim Blake Nelson, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Kyle MacLachlan, Keith David, Siena East, Scott Shepherd, Tracy Letts, Macon Blair, Killer Mike, Peter Dinklage, Michael Hitchcock and Cody Lightning. The show premiered on September 23, 2025 on FX.
