"Eddington" is a dark neo-western satire written and directed by Ari Aster ("Hereditary", "Midsommar"). Set during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the film focuses on a standoff between the sheriff and mayor of Eddington, New Mexico, which sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O'Connell, Micheal Ward, Austin Butler and Emma Stone. "Eddington" opened in theaters on July 18, 2025.
