"28 Years Later" is a post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle ("28 Days Later") from a script by Alex Garland ("Dredd", "Warfare").

The film is the third installment in the zombie franchise, and a sequel to "28 Days Later" (2002) and "28 Weeks Later" (2007). It was shot back-to-back with another sequel titled "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" which is directed by Nia Dacosta ("Candyman", "The Marvels"). The cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes.

"28 Years Later" opened in theaters on June 20, 2025.

It's been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway.
