ANNE SHIRLEY Anime Series Trailer, Clips, Images and Poster

"Anne Shirley" is a new anime series based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic novel "Anne of Green Gables". Hiroshi Kawamata directs the series at The Answer Studio. Composition is handled by Natsuko Takahashi and character designs by Kenichi Tsuchiya, while Tadashi Sudo worked on art direction and Michiru Oshima composed the music.

"Anne of Green Gables" has been adapted into anime twice before in Japan. The first was directed by Isao Takahata ("Grave of the Fireflies") in 1979, and the second one directed by Katsuyoshi Watabe ("Brave Exkaiser") in 2009, both animated by Nippon Animation as part of its World Masterpiece Theater series.

The opening song is "Yokan" by Tota, while the ending theme is "heart" by Laura Day Romance. The voice cast includes Honoka Inoue, Aya Nakamura, Yasunori Matsumoto, Yume Miyamoto, Naoya Miyase, Teruyuki Tanzawa, Kimiko Saito, Sora Amamiya and Sayaka Kikuchi.

The English dub started streaming on Saturday, April 19, 2025 and features Monica Flatley, Linda Leonard, Randy Pearlman, Casey Casper, Wendy Powell, Anastasia Muñoz and Laura Faverty.

"Anne Shirley" premiered on NHK Educational TV in Japan in April 2025, and is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
