"The Room Next Door" ("La Habitacion de al lado") is a drama written and directed by Pedro Almodovar in his English-language feature debut based on the novel "What Are You Going Through by Sigrid Nunez. The film stars Tilda Swinton, Julianne Moore, John Turturro and Alessandro Nivola. "The Room Next Door" premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival where it won the Golden Lion. It opened in select theaters in the US on December 20, 2024.

"Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation."
