"The Many Saints of Newark" is a crime drama directed by Alan Taylor from a script by David Chase and Lawrence Konner. The film is a prequel to Chase's hit HBO series "The Sopranos", and it's set during the 1960s and 1970s in Newark, New Jersey. The cast features Michael Gandolfini, Alessandro Nivola, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Billy Magnussen, Leslie Odom Jr., Michela De Rossi, John Magaro, Ray Liotta and Vera Farmiga. The film was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on October 1, 2021.
