"City of Lies" is a fact-based crime drama directed by Brad Furman ("The Lincoln Lawyer") from a script by Christian Contreras based on the non-fiction book "LAbyrinth" written by Randall Sullivan.

The film stars Johnny Depp as LAPD detective Russell Poole, who in 1997 is investigating the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.. After two decades, Poole joins forces with reporter Jack Jackson (based on journalist Randall Sullivan and played by Forest Whitaker) to find out the truth about the unsolved cases.

"City of Lies" was originally set for release on September 7, 2018, however it was announced a month before release that the film had been shelved. The film was eventually acquired by Saban Films and released theatrically on March 19, 2021. It will be released via PVOD on April 9th.
