"A Suitable Boy" is a new drama miniseries directed by Mira Nair from a script by Andrew Davies ("Pride and Prejudice", "House of Cards") based on Vikram Seth's 1993 novel of the same name.

The six-part series is set in North India in 1951, and it follows 19-year-old Lata Mehra (Tanya Maniktala), who has to deal with her mother (Mahira Kakkar), who wants to marry her off to a man of her choosing. Meanwhile Maan (Ishaan Khatter), a relative by marriage, falls for courtesan singer Saeeda Bai (Tabu).

"A Suitable Boy" premiered on July 26 on BBC One in the U.K., and on December 7, 2020 on Acorn TV in the U.S.
