New Series Trailers: SELF MADE, PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS, THE UNDOING, THE THIRD DAY and More

Today we have new trailers for:
  • The Netlix biographical miniseries "Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker" starring Octavia Spencer. The limited series is inspired by the book "On Her Own Ground", and episodes are directed by Kasi Lemmons ("Harriet") and DeMane Davis ("Queen Sugar"). The cast also includes Blair Underwood, Tiffany Haddish, Carmen Ejogo, Garrett Morris and Kevin Carroll.
  • Showtime's "Penny Dreadful: City of Angels", a sequel series to "Penny Dreadful". The original show's creator John Logan has returned to write and executive produce the new series, which stars Natalie Dormer, Daniel Zovatto, Nathan Lane, Adriana Barraza, Rory Kinnear and Kerry Bishe.
  • The new HBO limited series "The Undoing" starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. The six-episode miniseries hails from "Big Little Lies" executive producer David E. Kelley.
  • HBO's upcoming British mystery limited series "The Third Day" starring Jude Law, Naomie Harris, Katherine Waterston and Emily Watson. The first half of the drama is helmed by BAFTA-winner Marc Munden ("Utopia") and the second half by Philippa Lowthorpe ("Call the Midwife").
  • Quibi's horror anthology series "50 States Of Fright" from executive producer Sam Raimi. The show features ten-minute episodes inspired by local urban legends from several small towns across America. The cast features Rachel Brosnahan, Travis Fimmel, Christina Ricci, Jacob Batalon, Ming-Na Wen, Taissa Farmiga, Asa Butterfield and more.
  • The HBO true-crime documentary series "Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children" produced and directed by the Emmy-award winning team at Show of Force.

Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children (April 5, 2020 - HBO)

Synopsis:


"In the period between 1979 to 1981, at least 30 African-American children and young adults disappeared or were murdered in Atlanta. Although 23-year-old Wayne Williams was prosecuted for two of the crimes, the rest of the cases were ultimately closed following his conviction in 1982.

The docuseries hears from the victims' families and examines the original trial materials and court documents, raising new questions for further investigation, and takes a closer look at the racial tensions and cultural clashes that brought Atlanta to a boiling point and caught the nation in a moment of transition."
