"Sanditon" is a British period drama series based on an unfinished manuscript by Jane Austen.

Adapted by Andrew Davies ("Pride and Prejudice", "War & Peace"), the show follows the unconventional and spirited Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams), who is brought by a chance accident to Sanditon, a seaside resort on the cusp of dramatic change, and finds herself both shocked by its scheming and ambitious inhabitants and intrigued by the secrets they share.

The cast also features Theo James, Kate Ashfield, Crystal Clarke, Turlough Convery, Jack Fox, Kris Marshall, Charlotte Spencer, Lily Sacofsky and Anne Reid.

"Sanditon" aired on ITV in the U.K. on August 25, 2019, and it is scheduled to premiere its first two episodes back-to-back on PBS in the U.S. on Sunday, January 12, 2020. The series has been cancelled after just one season.
