"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" is the ninth episode in the "Star Wars" saga created by George Lucas, and the third installment in the sequel trilogy that includes J.J. Abrams' "The Force Awakens" and Rian Johnson's "The Last Jedi". Abrams is back in the director's chair and the script was written by Abrams and Chris Terrio ("Argo">, "Justice League").

Billed as the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, the film stars Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Lupita Nyong'o, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, Ian McDiarmid, Billy Dee Williams, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" opened in theaters on December 20, 2019.
